{"id":1207,"date":"2021-10-03T09:00:54","date_gmt":"2021-10-03T13:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/?p=1207"},"modified":"2021-10-03T09:00:54","modified_gmt":"2021-10-03T13:00:54","slug":"exploring-the-letter-b-beautiful-boyne-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/03\/exploring-the-letter-b-beautiful-boyne-city\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;B&#8221; is for &#8220;Beautiful Boyne City&#8221;, Michigan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1208\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"B\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>When Alan and I take on an ABC Adventure, we don&#8217;t limit ourselves to doing the letters in any particular order.\u00a0 By the time we got to the letter B, on our 48 hour mini trip, we had already visited Kalkaska, Grayling and Gaylord!\u00a0 We had explored many new places, tasted several fun foods and immersed ourselves in nature.\u00a0 The letter B might have also been utilized at the &#8220;bakery&#8221; as we filled up for donuts at &#8220;breakfast&#8221;.\u00a0 We might have used the letter when we went to the &#8220;beach&#8221; to eat that breakfast, or as we explored many of the &#8220;buildings&#8221; we had already seen along our journey.\u00a0 Instead, we had safely guarded our letter &#8220;B&#8221;, knowing that we would soon arrive in &#8220;Boyne City&#8221; where there are only a few specialty stores, a couple of amazing restaurants and a number of condominiums.\u00a0 In this seemingly tiny town, which appears to spring up from nowhere, the beautiful Lake Charlevoix takes center stage. \u00a0 This area has been attracting people to its shores for many years.\u00a0 From skiing in the winter, to the Morel Festival in the spring, sailing in the summer and enjoying the colors of fall, there is something to explore here year round.\u00a0 In fact, 3500 people call this place their permanent home.\u00a0 The population swells in the warmer months as people flock to the natural beauty of the area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-flowers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1213\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-flowers-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"B-Boyne flowers\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-Fish.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1212\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-Fish-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"B-Boyne Fish\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know what intrigues me the most, the waterfront, or the flowers. The old and the new\u00a0\u00a0 combines seamlessly.\u00a0 Everywhere I look radiates a personal pride in the area.\u00a0 Even the little log cabin, which has served as the visitor center since the 1940&#8217;s, is awash in carefully tended flowers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, I am unable to find out anything about this little building but the careful preservation has ensured its safety\u00a0 as industry develops around it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-my-baby.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1217\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-my-baby-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"B-Boyne-my baby\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>More flowers are planted along the riverfront.\u00a0 These are carefully tended by volunteers, providing me a fun place to play with my photography.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-riverfront.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1214\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-riverfront-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"B-Boyne riverfront\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-flowers1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1215\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-flowers1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"B-Boyne-flowers\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As we make our way down Main Street, which is really no more than a few businesses, we are pleased to see that it is enough to attract plenty of shoppers and people looking for a great waterside meal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-downtown.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1211\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-downtown-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"B-Boyne downtown\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-development.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1210\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B-Boyne-development-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"B-Boyne development\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Sunset Park was a great place to end our adventures for this day.\u00a0 We purchased an ice cream, then sat upon a &#8220;bench&#8221;
