{"id":1336,"date":"2021-10-15T12:51:31","date_gmt":"2021-10-15T16:51:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/?p=1336"},"modified":"2021-10-15T12:51:31","modified_gmt":"2021-10-15T16:51:31","slug":"n-is-for-a-nourishing-nature-preserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/15\/n-is-for-a-nourishing-nature-preserve\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;N&#8221; is for a Nourishing Nature Preserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/N.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1337\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/N-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Wilderness-State-Beach.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1338\" src=\"http:\/\/abcexplorers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Wilderness-State-Beach-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Never mind that nature and north both begin with the letter N, it seems our brains were not allowing us to play with words on our Northern Michigan road trip.\u00a0 Except for the letter N, we had completed the entire alphabet as we had traveled along on our two day adventure.\u00a0 There was a sense of pressure to find our final letter before arriving home.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t imagine how many opportunities we had already missed.<\/p>\n<p>Then we saw it!\u00a0 The &#8220;nature&#8221; preserve was tucked off to the side.\u00a0 It was pouring with rain.\u00a0 We could have easily talked ourselves into bypassing the opportunity.\u00a0 Instead we turned down a miles long, dead straight dirt road.\u00a0 The tunnel of trees created a canopy over the car as we ventured toward our unknown destination.\u00a0 Along the way the magic of Michigan was present everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>The greens\u00a0 of the forest were almost ethereal from the rain. A magical mist floated among the branches.\u00a0 As the woods wrapped us in their embrace, this peaceful location seemed untouched and unspoiled by man. Deer quietly stepped in front of the car, unafraid as if they had never known the fear of encroachment.\u00a0 We continued driving. The deeper we went, the more isolated it became.
